Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was fortunate to learn the craft from my father, Carl, who showed me the power of capturing fleeting moments and turning them into lifelong memories. From changing film as a kid to photographing action shots of skiers and rafters as a teenager, I developed a deep appreciation for storytelling through images.
After earning my business degree from the University of North Texas, I returned to Red River to continue our family legacy. I’ve worked hard to modernize Southern Exposure Photography, blending cutting-edge technology with our timeless approach to portrait and wedding photography. My passion is simple: I want every client to have more than just beautiful images—I want them to relive the joy, love, and connection they felt in that moment, every time they look at their photos.
With my wife, Rachel, by my side, I continue to push my creativity to new levels, always striving to capture the essence of my clients' most cherished milestones
“The absolute best photographers around! We've been going to Red River for years and I'm never disappointed in the snapshots they take of my family. We chose to have my daughters senior pictures taken while we were on vacation and they were beautiful! Highly recommend!” - Kathy Sears
“Kyle with Southern Exposure did an amazing job making our mountain wedding dream a reality. We had all of our photos back within a few weeks and we were blown away with how beautiful they all were. We could not have found a better photographer for our perfect day!” - Kelsey Chambers
“Every time we look back on pictures from them, we also think back on the good memories they bring. We’re always delighted by the quality of their work. So much so that this year, we asked Kyle if he would meet us in Albuquerque to take our engagement photos at the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. The pictures turned out so incredible that we don’t even care about how our wedding photos turn out because we know these will always be our favorite. If you’re in the Enchanted Circle, Southern Exposure is the only way to go.”
“Kyle was amazing!! We got our daughter’s senior pictures taken and he was so great with her not to mention the amazing pictures he took of her!! I can’t wait to get the final pictures!” - Amy Collins
Our Summer Mini Sessions in Red River are perfect for immediate families wanting a few beautiful updated family photos in the mountains without booking a full session. These quick 20-minute sessions are fun, simple, and designed for parents and children living in the same household only.
After your session, you’ll choose your five favorite images from an online gallery, with additional prints and digital files available for purchase.
Although all of our packages include digital files, we hear it all the time:“We had our photos taken… and they’re still sitting on a flash drive.”
Beautiful memories deserve more than a screen—they deserve a place on your walls and in your daily life.
That’s why at Southern Exposure Photography, our goal is to create artwork that is proudly displayed in your home and carried through the generations. Every session we photograph—no matter the shoot type—includes a print credit to ensure your images don’t get lost on a computer or in a social media post, but instead become heirloom pieces you can see, touch, and pass down.
From custom wall art to albums and keepsakes, we guide you through the entire process so your memories live where they belong—on your walls, not on a hard drive.
